Social Media Free Writing

This video was very interesting for me. I thought that many of the facts and the statistics were shocking. I did not know that over one million people joined Facebook in the first 9 months that it had been out. That's an insane amount of people for a social networking site. I also thought it was interesting that 24 out of 25 of the major newspapers have been seeing a decline in their readers because its so easy to read articles and the news online. All of the things on the Internet make life easier to millions of Americans, as well as people all over the world. I think that its true that social networking started out as a fad but it has now grown into being an epidemic. I feel as though the trend of the Internet will not stop because people are finding ways to adapt everything to the Internet. Now with the inventions of cell phones with webcams, you can video chat with anyone you want, anywhere! The technology these days has just gone crazy. Youtube is another big website that is used to post videos for all to see. I think it benefits not only casual web surfers, but also students and teachers to connect their lessons with a video. This video has provided me with some shocking statistics on the social networking in today's world and how crazy its started to get. It also was shocking to hear that peoples opinions are more driven off of the opinions of other people's blogs or posts, rather than listening to the ad's of companies.
